Innovative sound and visual composer Olivier Pasquet will discuss the architectural and musical contexts of “Lloyd’s Mirror” during its premier at 7 pm on Feb. 12.
Margaret Atwood, author of the best-selling novel “The Handmaid’s Tale” that inspired an award-winning television series, will deliver the keynote address on March 9.
The new funding recognizes the potential impact of the UB startups, which are working to help alleviate drinking water shortages worldwide, among other projects.
“Miller demonstrates how engaging with the materiality of the poems leads to new knowledge about the poet and her work,” says the selection committee.
“Viewers can expect a more dynamic presentation, with greater impact from the street view,” says Department of Theatre and Dance Chair Lynne Koscielniak.
Performances will take place on Feb. 9, 12 and 27 in Baird Recital Hall.
Bruce Jackson, SUNY Distinguished Professor and James Agee Professor of American Culture in the Department of English, hosts the film series with Diane Christian, SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor of English.
