Molecular Evolution and Genomics

Evolution and Genomes

ABOUT THE RESEARCH

The Molecular Evolution and Genomics research emphasis centers on questions concerning the mechanisms that drive evolutionary change. A variety of theoretical, descriptive and novel experimental approaches using recent advances in genomic methodology are being used to address the roles played by various evolutionary processes in shaping organisms and populations. Specific areas of interest lie with molecular, structural and functional evolution, as well as phylogenetics, genomics, and bioinformatics.  Research by this group spans a wide range of spatial and temporal scales, including different levels of biological organization.
