The University Clinic is fully staffed with licensed and certified speech-language pathologists and audiologists who supervise services performed by graduated clinicians. The Clinic focuses on providing quality services using state of the art equipment and the latest diagnostic and therapy techniques.

Clinic Mission

The mission of the SUNY at Buffalo Speech-Language & Hearing Clinic is to provide quality, state-of-the-art services to individuals with speech, language and/or hearing impairments to achieve their maximum communication potential. We are dedicated to providing quality services utilizing current clinical techniques and technology while facilitating research in the areas of prevention, education, habilitation and rehabilitation of communication disorders.

Our Client Care Goals

  • To provide quality, state-of-the-art services in the areas of evaluation and treatment of speech, language, or hearing differences, delays, or disorders
  • To provide timely services in evaluation and therapy
  • To provide appropriate recommendations and referrals
  • To provide appropriate counseling related to speech, language, or hearing disorders

Graduate Training Mission

The University of Buffalo's Speech-Language & Hearing Clinic is the training facility for students who are majoring in Speech Pathology and Audiology in the Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences. We provide services for hundreds of Western New York residents each year involving a full spectrum of clientele involving central auditory processing, aural habilitation and rehabilitation with an emphasis on cochlear implant therapy, tinnitus, laryngectomy, Asperger's syndrome and autism, augmentative communication, voice, stuttering, aphasia, traumatic brain injury, adult and child speech and language and adult and child language learning. Services of the Clinic are accredited in Speech Pathology and Audiology by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Through provision of these services, we will provide our students with the highest quality clinical training opportunities available.
