BUFFALO, N.Y. -- University at Buffalo School of Management alumnus Tim Rogers received the UB "Accounting Alumnus of the Year" Award at the annual UB Accounting and Law Awards Banquet, held in April in the Buffalo Marriott Hotel.

More than 200 students, faculty, alumni, company representatives and family guests were present to hear Rogers deliver the event's keynote speech. In it, he emphasized the quality and growth of UB, describing it as "a great launch pad for future business leaders." He is the 22nd alumnus to win the award.

Rogers is a graduate of the joint BS/MBA program at the School of Management. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting in 1979 and an MBA in 1980. While at UB, he was a charter member of the Buffalo Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, a national scholastic and professional fraternity for financial information students and professionals.

Rogers currently serves as managing director at Bear Stearns in New York City, where he oversees the accounting for the company's foreign exchange and futures segment. He joined the firm in 1992. Prior to that, he was an accountant at Touche, Ross & Co. and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The accounting program in the UB School of Management has been accredited since 1985 by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The program is one of only 165 programs in the world to achieve this level of recognition.

The University at Buffalo School of Management is ranked as one of the world's top-50 business schools by The Wall Street Journal. It also has been cited by Business Week as one of the "best business schools" in America, and by Forbes for "best return on investment."
