BUFFALO, N.Y. — The field outside the University at Buffalo Student Union will be crowded this afternoon — very crowded.

That’s because more than 2,000 students from the Class of 2020 will gather to create a gigantic human UB logo.

The annual event, which began in 2004, is a fun-filled tradition that provides incoming students an opportunity to join together, literally and symbolically, as part of the UB community.

Now in its 13 consecutive year, the human logo has never been rained out and it has become a central part of the university’s Opening Weekend. Its dimensions are roughly 128 by 90 feet, which is large enough to fill nearly half of a football field.

The event will take place from 4-5 p.m. on the Student Union Field on North Campus.

Media interested in attending are asked to contact Cory Nealon in University Communications at cmnealon@buffalo.edu or 716-645-4614.
