UB School of Management to Present Lecture on Business Ethics

BUFFALO, N. Y. -- The University at Buffalo School of Management MBA Program will sponsor a lecture on "Ethical Leadership" to be presented by W. Michael Hoffman, Ph.D., founder and executive director of the Center for Business Ethics at Bentley College in Waltham, Mass., at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 in the Center for the Arts Screening Room on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.

The lecture, one of more than 50 inaugural events being held during October in conjunction with the investiture of John B. Simpson as UB's 14th president, will be free and open to the public, and advance registration is not required.

Hoffman has been consulting on business ethics for universities, government agencies and corporations in a variety of industries for more than 20 years. He has written or edited 16 books on business ethics and is the author of more than 60 articles. He is advisor to the board of the Ethics Officer Association (EOA), which he co-founded in 1991. He also is past president of the Society for Business Ethics and is senior ethics consultant for LRN, the Legal Knowledge Company, headquartered in Los Angeles.

Established in 1976, the Center for Business Ethics is a nonprofit research and consulting institute and an educational forum for the exchange of ideas and information in business ethics.
