A dozen Western New York companies will attend a presentation by Judy Albers of Excell Partners Inc. titled "They are Interested, What Next?" on Wednesday, March 31, from 8:30-10 a.m. in rooms 206 and 208 of the UB Technology Incubator in Baird Research Park, 1576 Sweet Home Rd., Amherst. Excell Partners Inc. manages a venture capital fund that provides pre-seed and seed stage financing to high-tech start-up companies, primarily in upstate New York.

The UB seminar, which is oversubscribed, is designed to help startup technology companies learn how to close the deal once they have attracted investors.

Albers, an expert on the upstate New York investment climate, will discuss the kinds of information that need to be provided to investors; she will discuss the negotiations of a Convertible Note Agreement and an Equity Financing Deal, as well as the various forms of legal documentation that are required for each type of deal.

The UB seminar is part of "Pitching to Investors," a series offered to selected, local companies by the UB Office of Science, Technology Transfer and Economic Outreach (STOR).

Interested media are invited to attend the informal breakfast before the presentation at 8 a.m. in order to speak with people from local companies.
