Media Advisory: Life sciences leaders to discuss industry innovations at lecture series

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Experts from Integer Holdings Corp. (formerly Greatbatch), Albany Molecular Research Institute (AMRI) and The Mentholatum Co. will take part in a fireside chat for the University at Buffalo’s New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences (CBLS) Innovation Lecture Series.

The lecture, part of a monthly series that highlights how Western New York is expanding in life sciences, advanced manufacturing and economic development, will be Thursday, Sept. 22 from 4–5 p.m., on the second floor of CBLS at 701 Ellicott St., Buffalo.

Panelists are Asish Shah, PhD, senior director, orthopedics research and development at Integer; Rory Curtis, PhD, vice president of discovery biology and pharmacology at AMRI; and Erick Estrada, director of marketing eye and acne skin care at Mentholatum.

Marnie LaVigne, PhD, president and CEO of Launch NY, will moderate the panel, which will discuss how their companies move forward in the life sciences industry and how they stay competitive in the global economy.

This lecture is hosted in conjunction with the Village Capital Critical Path program, presented by Launch NY, Invest Buffalo Niagara, the Western New York Incubator Network and UB.

Critical Path is a new life sciences program that provides world-class mentoring, networking and venture capital to startups. The five-month course, sponsored by National Grid and the U.S. Small Business Administration, is part of the Buffalo VilCap Communities Accelerator Program.
