The meeting will be held in conjunction with the New York State Bar Association meeting.

Judge Lippman will discuss the many changes that have been made in the state's court system since the September 11th terrorist attacks. Appointed in January 1996 by Chief Judge Judith S. Attendees also will hear a special presentation by Nils Olsen, Jr., dean of the UB Law School.

Those who would like to attend the luncheon should call Ilene Fleischmann, associate dean and executive director of the Law Alumni Association, at (716) 645-2107 or e-mail her at fleisch@buffalo.edu.

The cost is $50 per person, $35 per person if you graduated in 1997 or later. Guests are welcome.

Checks should be payable to the UB Law Alumni Association, or send a charge authorization for MasterCard or Visa to: UB Law Alumni Office, 312 O'Brian Hall, Buffalo, N.Y. 14260. Fax registration will be accepted for those paying by credit card (Fax: 716-645-5940).

"It's a great opportunity to visit with UB Law School friends from across the state at one of New York's oldest and most elegant clubs," says Law Alumni President Ernest J. Norman.

A 1968 graduate of New York University School of Law, Judge Lippman joined the court system as an assistant to the justices of the Supreme Court, First Judicial Department. In 1974, he became law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Spiegel, a position he continued to hold when Justice Spiegel became Surrogate of New York County. In 1977, Judge Lippman became principal court attorney for Supreme Court, New York County, Civil Term. Named chief clerk and executive officer of Supreme Court, New York County, Civil Term in 1983, he was appointed deputy chief administrator for management support of the statewide court system in 1989. In 1995, Governor George E. Pataki appointed him as a judge of the Court of Claims.

Cardozo Award of the Jewish Lawyers Guild, the Bernard Botein Medal of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the Harlan Fiske Stone Award of the Trial Lawyers Association of the City of New York, and the Robert L.
