BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo Department of Theatre and Dance will present Thornton Wilder's classic Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Our Town" April 14-18 in the Drama Theatre, located in the Center for the Arts, North Campus. Performance times are Wednesday through Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

For generations, "Our Town" has been one of the most performed and beloved plays in America, and one of the most delightful and moving plays of the modern era. Set in the quintessential New England town of Grover's Corners, N.H., "Our Town" traces the lives of two young lovers, Emily and George, from childhood to marriage to full maturity, capturing the great joys and inevitable sorrows of human life. Guiding us through this journey is the Stage Manager, a mysterious figure who seems to know the ending at the beginning, and may even provide a glimpse of the secret bittersweet meaning behind our common lives.

"Our Town" won the Pulitzer Prize in 1938 in the midst of the Great Depression, and the 2008 New York production was on every critic's list of the top 10 productions of the year. The UB production is directed by Jerry Finnegan.

Tickets for "Our Town" are $18 for the general public and $10 for students and senior citizens.
