MA in General Psychology, UB

Doctoral Student, Industrial-Organizational Psychology

"My time in the UB Master's program was essential in preparing me for my future career path—and also very enjoyable, personally. Currently, I am a doctoral student in Industrial-Organizational Psychology at Purdue University. There are many complex skills needed for academic work: measurement and research design, writing for academic audiences, data analysis, etc.  All of these need to develop over time (through much trial-and-error!). Many students enter into doctoral programs straight from undergraduate. I have always been thankful that I attended UB first because it gave me much-needed time and experience in doing research and getting used to an academic way of life. Some highlights were: learning the importance of statistics, meeting prominent academics, and the many discussions with other graduate student friends." – Andrew Jebb
