Naomi McKay.

PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience, UB

Assistant Professor, Higher Education

“I was awarded my PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience from UB in 2015 and have recently completed my first year as an Assistant Professor at SUNY Buffalo State. The position requires that I teach and conduct research, and the UB Psychology graduate program allowed me to gain teaching experience while training to be an independent researcher. I think most importantly the faculty in the program care for the education and future of the students. They focus much of their energy on the successful training of all the students in the program. My research experience gained me not only many laboratory techniques, but also the ability to write a scientific paper as well as present my original research at scientific conferences. Finally, the course work provided both knowledge central to one's field of research as well as peripheral information based on the faculties’ specific expertise.” – Naomi McKay
