AHI 251LEC Introduction to Modern Art

Major ideas defining the art of the modern world; painting, sculpture, architecture, and related arts; what these works mean and how they illustrate changing views of modernity.

ART 210LAB Introduction to Photography

There is a fee associated with this class. This studio course examines the historical, conceptual, and practical developments of the art of photography as embodied in the use of digital image-making technologies under natural and ambient lighting. Technically based course, students are initiated to digital technologies such as camera, printing and imaging software (Photoshop) for the photographer. This beginning course is required to access all advanced courses in photography. It includes demonstrations, studio/lab works oriented towards the acquisition of skills, critical vocabulary and initiation to conceptual approach to photography. Requirement: Students must have their own digital camera with a manual exposure or speed control, a minimum image size of 8.0 Megapixels, and a hard drive storage device of 100 GB or larger. There may be a class fee assessed to your student account.

ART 211LAB Basic Painting

Covers basic methods and materials in oil painting; including traditional and current approaches to form, color, and pictorial organization. Varied course structure includes direct interpretation of subject matter, as well as conceptually based visual problems. There may be a class fee assessed to your student account.
