2020 Rumsey Exhibition

The Rumsey is an undergraduate exhibition and competition. The exhibition is an oportunity to display your work before a large contigent of visitors who might not have the opportunity to see our work otherwise. The winning prize money from the competition will help send you to wherever it is you want to go in the world.

• Fill out the application (you can download the application below) and get it into the Art Office at 202 in the CFA by 3pm, Dec. 6, 2019.
• Write an artist statement, your plans for a trip to explore and expand your artistic horizons and an estimated budget for the trip. Due January 31, 2020
• Bring in your artwork ready to install by January 29, 2020 

Department of Art faculty will select the winner by evaluating the quality your work and the accompanying written travel proposal. Awards start at $2000.00, so structure your budget plans around that amount.

Award winners are required to showcase the artwork they will create from the travels in the 2021 Rumsey Exhibition.

• must be a sophomore or greater who will be returning for the full 2020 - 2021 acedemic year.
• maintain a department GPA of 2.5 or higher with in the Dept of Art. 
• elegibility is limited to BA andf BFA art students in the University at Buffalo.

The Art Advisor will confirm the eligibility of each applicant.
