The new works by Ann Moody debuting in Expanding the Grid allude to the diverse uses of the grid—a structure that has served as a favorite motif of the early twentieth-century avant-garde as well as an underlying framework in contemporary comic book layouts and a traditional basis for quilt making—blurring the distinction between art and craft and high- and lowbrow forms of visual creativity.
