Class of 2021 Celebration

Today is your day!  We celebrate your year of accomplishments.  From all the faculty and staff in CDS  -  Congratulations!!

A Message from the Interim Chair- Dr. Hu

Dear CDS Undergraduate and Graduate Students of 2021:

As the Department's interim Chair, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on accomplishing the most critical milestone of your education and career preparation. At the same time, I'd like to thank parents and families who are celebrating with you and who will cheer you for your success.

You are special students because you have witnessed the largest disruption to education in our recent history. The Country has been facing an unprecedented challenge in fighting COVID19 pandemics.  Every part of our education was changed.  On campus classes shifted to remote learning.  Clinical training was impacted due to the restriction of in person interaction.  Good or bad, you will never forget this extraordinary year.  I am delighted that even with these challenges and difficulties, you kept your spirit up and stayed positive. You worked hard toward your goal.  You should feel proud of yourself for making this accomplishment.

Graduation is not an end of your education; it is instead a part of the large journey of life. Graduate means that you will move forward to your next adventure, either continuing your higher education or pursuing your career in speech language or audiology.  Wherever your future takes you, this graduation will be a new launching point.  Graduating from UB has already shown your ability for success in education.  I am confident that you will continue to persevere and thrive in the future.

Our Department is strong.  We make every effort to perpetuate high quality education.  Your success is our success. We are eager to hear from you in the future as you continue to succeed in your future career development.

Congratulations!
