The Adult Language Network (ALN) Lab is interested in what aspects of mental lexicon structure make it easier to retrieve some words more so than other words, and how word retrieval can become impaired (called anomia). Our research benefits from the participation of typically aging adults, as well as adults with neurogenic language disorders, including people with aphasia and people with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The goal of our lab is to better delineate typical and clinically-significant anomia and develop novel approaches to the treatment of anomia.
