Research Project

My project proposes to explore the relationship between two seemingly disparate historical events, the Holocaust and the Canadian Residential School system, by investigating key examples of both life-writing and fictional texts. Ultimately, my goal is to push back against ‘negative’ or privative understandings of trauma in favor of a more balanced account grounded in what victims speak and write rather than what they withhold.

Academic Background

I have a BA.H in Philosophy from the University of Guelph, an MA in Philosophy as well as in Studies in Comparative Literature and the Arts from Brock University
