On February 22, the UB School of Architecture hosted a symposium exploring the intersection of architecture and deafness. The symposium focused on the architecture of schools for the deaf throughout history, the creation of "Deaf Space" today, and the impact of evolving technology and cultural attitudes toward deafness in the future.

Speakers included Jeffrey Mansfield, the design director of the MASS Design Group, Hansel Bauman, a campus architect at Gallaudet University, and Michael Chorost, author and technology theorist.
