Professor Andreas Daum has been selected to receive the DAAD Alumni Association’s Excellence Award for International Exchange, recognizing his outstanding contributions to transatlantic academic collaboration, teaching, mentoring, and research.
Five distinguished scholars in Modern European/German History and German Studies nominated Daum for this prestigious award, praising his intellectual leadership, commitment to young scholars, and deep influence on American-German academic relations. Describing him as “one of the leading scholars in the area of American-German academic relations and European-American history of his generation,” nominators highlighted his originality, mentorship, and dedication to fostering international academic networks.
The award will be presented on April 4, 2025, during the conference "The Future of Transatlantic Relations in Science and Higher Education: Celebrating 100 Years of DAAD" in New York City (April 3–5, 2025).
