One of the grant recipients is Ogechukwu Williams, an assistant professor in the Department of History. Her project, "Gender and Power in African Indigenous Religions," examines the roles and influences of women in traditional African religious practices, aiming to shed light on gender dynamics within these spiritual systems.

The Gender Institute Faculty Research Grants provide essential support for innovative, high-quality research and curriculum development focusing on women, gender and sexuality. Designed to promote interdisciplinary and collaborative projects, these grants offer vital resources to advance academic inquiry and prepare applications for external awards.

By offering critical resources, these grants encourage groundbreaking work and foster new approaches to exploring gender-related topics. Faculty members, like Professor Williams, are empowered to push the boundaries of research and curriculum development, contributing to the growth of knowledge and understanding in these vital areas.
