Trumper and Williams Awarded Research Funding through UB Humanities Institute Initiative

Congratulations to Professors John Trumper and Ayesha Williams on receiving research funding through the Humanities Institute’s research initiative, supported by the Office of the Vice President for Research.

  • Camilo Trumper has been awarded funding for his project, “Writing in Dictatorship: Writing, Activism, and its Archives in Pinochet’s Chile.” The grant will support research travel and expenses, along with a course release in spring 2026 to focus on this important work.
  • Ogechukwu Williams received funding for her project, “Dying to Bring Life: A Social History of Maternal Deaths in Nigeria.” This grant will support her efforts to collect oral history material in Nigeria as part of her research into the social dynamics of maternal health.
