About

Madeline Harts is a coloratura soprano and Buffalo, NY native who has an equal interest in performance, pedagogy, and musicology.  Ms. Harts is an alum of the Toledo Opera Resident Artist Program both as a Soprano (2014-2015) and Pianist (2015-2016); she has appeared in Toledo Opera productions of Roméo et Juliette, Madama Butterfly, Lucia di Lammermoor, Faust, and made her debut as the Shepherd Boy in Tosca (2014).  She is a current Professional Core member of the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus and was previously a choir member of the highly esteemed, historic Mariners Church of Detroit.

Ms. Harts holds degrees in Performance/Music Education from Ithaca College (BM) and Performance from Bowling Green State University (MM); currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in Historical Musicology alongside her teaching duties with University at Buffalo. Ms. Harts was also previously employed as Director of Community Engagement/Outreach and Arts Education for the Toledo Opera Company.
