About

Pianist Michael Serio, a Buffalo native, performs regularly as a soloist and as a collaborative pianist. At UB, Michael is a vocal accompanist, basic keyboard instructor and accompanist of the Break on Through performance class with Tiffany DuMouchelle. He enjoys supporting the budding careers of music performance students through accompanying lessons, recitals, juries and through performance coaching.

Michael is a certified Alexander Technique teacher who offers workshops and group classes at UB, Buffalo State and Fredonia State colleges. While living in Boston, Michael studied the AlexanderTechnique under Debi Adams at the Boston Conservatory and completed his teacher training certification with Tommy Thompson in 2009 and ATI certification in 2010. Michael had a career in software development prior to receiving an MM performance degree from UB under Eric Huebner in 2019.  Michael and his wife, Anandhi George, are active volunteers in the Isha yoga community and Save Soil Movement.
