Development of the Internet-based Heat Event Assessment Tool (I-HEAT)With funding from the NASA ROSES program, this project, in collaboration with researchers at BioMedware, the University of Michigan, and Michigan State University, assessed the feasibility of browser-based software for assessing the vulnerability of local populations (down to the neighborhood and residential level) to heat-related morbidity and mortality. A follow on project proposal is currently in review at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Figure 1 is a screen capture of the software.
