Christopher Mele, PhD, is a professor in the UB Department of Sociology abd an urban sociologist. His current research interests include the geography of race and social exclusion and the impact and consequences of neoliberalism on urban policy, urban development, affordable housing and public space. He also holds an adjunct appointment in the UB Department of Geography.
Prof. Mele was awarded a SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2014, a Fulbright at the University of Hong Kong in 2004-2005, and an American Council of Learned Societies Fellowship in 2003-2004.
