Four new faculty join UB Sociology

We are excited to welcome three new assistant professors joining the Department this coming year: Yige Dong, Iris Lu, and Joanna Pepin.

Dr. Dong studies gender and work in China, and received her PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 2019. Most recently, she was assistant professor at the University of Puget Sound.

Dr. Lu does research on social change and age-specific crime patterns around the world, and received her PhD from Pennsylvania State University in 2018. She is leaving a position at the University of South Florida as an assistant professor.

Dr. Pepin studies inequality related to gender and families and is currently a post-doc at the University of Texas, Austin. She received her PhD from the University of Maryland in 2019.

The Department is also fortunate to welcome Dr. Sarah Ford to UB as a clinical assistant professor. She received her PhD from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 2019.
