About

Yunmei (Iris) Lu is an Assistant Professor in the UB Department of Sociology. She received her PhD in Sociology from Pennsylvania State University in 2018. Her main research interests include life course criminology, social change, comparative study, age-period-cohort analysis, social responses to crime, and sentencing. Her recent research applies age-period-cohort modeling techniques to examine the impact of cultural context and social change on age-specific crime patterns in different countries and population subgroups.
