The Department of Theatre and Dance at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York (UB), invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor and Costume Shop Manager. This is a full-time (10 month) non-tenure-track faculty position with an emphasis on teaching, undergraduate recruitment, and artistic service.  The initial appointment will be for a three-year term with opportunity for renewal based on performance, College need, and available funding.

Costume design and construction, as a creative research activity, is central to the vision and mission of the department. Undergraduate and graduate students receive instruction and mentorship in design, pattern making, fabrication techniques, stitching, dyeing, textiles, and more. The Costume Shop Manager interacts with each of the 200+ student performers and designers to support Department production activities. All productions are serviced by the costume shop and students are educated in costume design, dyeing, fabrics, draping, and construction techniques.

University at Buffalo is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer and, in keeping with our commitment, welcomes all to apply including veterans and individuals with disabilities.
