Bio

Prior to his appointment at UB, Jon taught Movement and Acting at Pace University, the New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts, and at Columbia University’s MFA Acting program. Growing from his background and training in physical theater disciplines from around the world, Jon has taught workshops in NYC, regionally, and internationally.

As a performer, Jon was active professionally in New York City for almost two decades before his move to the Western NY area. In NYC, Jon co-founded and was artistic director of experimental theater company Cloud of Fools, which mounted 7 productions, and toured regionally. He was also a founding company member of Theatre Kuden under the artistic direction of N. Wolcz, and performed with them in NYC, Puerto Rico, Italy, and Germany. All of this took place alongside his commercial acting career, which spanned from independent, to regional, to off-Broadway, and included performances in dance, choral vocal performance, and independent film.

Since his arrival in the Western NY area, Jon co-founded and is artistic director of Infinite Spark Theater Company, for whose inaugural production he wrote, directed, adapted, and performed for its premiere at Geva Theatre Center in Rochester.

Jon obtained his MFA in Acting from Columbia University, and has been an active member of Actor’s Equity Association since 2011.
