Gina Boccolucci (she/her) will be joining the faculty as a temporary Clinical Assistant Professor and will be Department Scenic Artist and Department Props Manager on productions, providing technical direction on paint and props in Technical Studio, including the crafting of set props, and will be teaching Visual Imagination this spring semester.
Gina Boccolucci is a properties artisan and scenic designer from Buffalo, NY. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Design and Production from the University at Buffalo, and summa cum laude with a Master of Fine Arts in Production Technology from Ohio University. Her specialties include stage combat safe weaponry, puppetry, and foam-crafting. She has worked professionally in multiple capacities with TAIT Towers, Syracuse Stage at Syracuse University, STAGES St. Louis, the Santa Fe Opera, Road Less Traveled Productions, and Irish Classical Theater.
Some of her honors and acclamations include First Place in the 2020 SETC Properties Design Competition for her large scale dragon puppet, KCACTF Region II Certificate of Merit for Excellence in Scenic & Properties Design for 45 Plays for 45 President’s, and was part of the twelve-person build team of the United States’ 2019 Exhibit at the Prague Quadrennial.
