Speech and Hearing Science Minor

The field of Communicative Disorders and Sciences is very broad and relates to many fields and subspecialties. For this reason the department is offering a minor for students who are majors or prospective majors in other departments.

Requirements for the CDS Minor:

  • Minimum of C average for acceptance to the minor.
  • Complete CDS introductory overview course, CDS 151 Introduction to Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, plus five additional CDS courses, which may include independent study, for a total of 18 credits. You may choose courses to meet your specific interests. These will be selected with guidance from a faculty mentor who must approve them.

To apply for the undergraduate minor in Speech and Hearing Sciences, complete the Minor Application attached below and submit it to the department office in 122 Cary Hall. Responses to your application will be sent to the address listed on your application.
