Turn data and theory into meaningful solutions.

Economics helps you understand how the world works—and how you can help make it better. At the University at Buffalo, you’ll join a long tradition of students who learn to work with data, study markets and think about policies that improve people’s lives. Our faculty bring their research in areas like labor, health, education and cities into interactive classes where your questions and ideas matter. If you’re curious, good with problem-solving and ready to make a difference, economics at UB is a great place to begin.
