Buffalo, NY- The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo will present Koresh Dance Company on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 8:00pm in the Mainstage Theatre, located at the Center for the Arts, North Campus. There will be a pre-performance talk at 7:15pm. The performance is sponsored by M&T Bank. The residency is made possible through the ArtsCONNECT program of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation with support from the National Endowment for the Arts. Also supported in part by Buffalo Dance Center. Tickets are $31.50, Students (any school) $13.50.

Currently celebrating its 25th season, Koresh Dance Company is a technically superb and emotionally compelling contemporary dance company based in Philadelphia, PA. Founded in 1991 by Israeli-born Artistic Director Roni Koresh, the company's vast repertoire has been celebrated locally, nationally and internationally. Roni’s signature style combines ballet, modern, jazz, folk and more. The raw athleticism and human passion of his choreography leaves audiences dazzled year after year.

Koresh Dance Company will be in residence April 11-15. As Western New York’s premier presenter of dance, the Center places great emphasis on developing dance audiences in our community and introducing professional dance to children who otherwise might not have the opportunity. Since 1997, the Center has conducted more than 20 professional dance outreach projects to provide arts education for more than 27,000 students at schools primarily in the City of Buffalo. Western New York public school students have been afforded the opportunity to experience a live professional dance performance in their schools, free of charge, by some of the world’s finest companies. In addition, UB dance majors benefit from master classes with members of these professional dance companies. The residency activities also include our partner hospitals in the Arts in Healthcare Initiative – Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.
