UB Department of Theatre and Dance to Sponsor 2003 Summer Dance Program

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo Department of Theatre & Dance will once again offer its exciting and educational Summer Dance Program.

The Day Program will be held July 7, 9, 11 and 14, 16, 18. Morning classes will be available in beginner/intermediate and intermediate/advanced levels. Morning technique classes will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and will include ballet, modern and jazz. Afternoon intensive study classes will be held from 1-3 p.m., and will include concentrated study in tap, Broadway dance styles, repertoire and jazz techniques from classic to hip-hop. Cost ranges from $30 to $150, depending on program. Pre-registration is encouraged. Participants must be at least be freshmen in high school.

The Evening Program will be held June 16 to July 24. Intermediate/advanced level master classes will be held from 6-7:30 p.m., and will include two evenings of ballet, one of modern and one of jazz. Cost ranges from $7 for a single class to $72 for 16 classes. Registration will be accepted at the door. Participants must be at least 16 years of age.

All classes will take place in the Center for the Arts Dance Studios (Rooms B82 & B84) on the UB North (Amherst) Campus. UB Department of Theatre & Dance faculty, staff and guest artists will teach classes.

Classes are open to all dancers, studio members, UB students and community members.
