Bio: 
Millicent Ngwu is a graduate student and teaching assistant in the Department of Sociology at the University at Buffalo. She is passionate about studying medical sociology and understanding the complex factors that affect women's health and well-being. However, she seeks to embody the most significant part of her career aspirations in the social dimension of oncological disease. Specifically, she is interested in exploring the relationship between social factors and chronic diseases, identifying the root causes of health disparities and inequities, and working towards creating a fairer and healthier society. Maternal and child health is particularly interesting to her, as she believes that improving the welfare of mothers and children can positively impact families and communities for generations to come. In a world where health disparities persist, she is committed to using research, activism, and compassion to drive positive change and empower marginalized groups.
