Resources and Funding

Technē is pleased to support both faculty and students who desire to explore the possibilities at the intersection of arts and technology. Each year, we review proposals and provide funding to those engaging in such research and programming. We look to award two faculty awards per calendar year, and one to two cultural projects by students per semester (Fall and Spring).  We are also continuing and developing our associations with various arts and science organizations locally, domestically, and internationally.

We continue to serve the research and pedagogical mission of the University of Buffalo though the financial support of two, Faculty Fellowships each calendar year.
Technē looks to support one student project, per semester (Fall and Spring, only), that are focused on a variety of subjects, including but not limited to the arts (visual, theater, music, etc.), culture, technology, and science. UB graduate students with studies focused in the areas of the arts, sciences, and/or technology are encouraged to apply. While there is no deadline, applications will be reviewed as they are received. Reception of materials does not guarantee funding availability.
We have worked hard to cultivate relationships with arts and science organizations outsite Buffalo and the greater United States.  As Techne continues to strengthen and expand these associations, we are proud to announce our current parterships:

Techne utilizes a formal process and schedule for the Faculty Research Fellowships.  The cycle occurs once per calendar year, and involves providing requested materials for review.  Please check back for information on our upcoming 2018 awards.

Cultural Funding is considered on less formal basis.  Techne will review requests as they are submitted via our department email. Please be aware that due to limited funds per semester, funding will be provided based on the availability of funds and the discretion of the department.
