A New Yorker all her life, Samantha (Sam) Schmeer is originally from Mechanicville, NY. She attended SUNY Geneseo for her undergraduate studies where she graduated cum laude in 2019, earning a B.A. in English literature, with minors in dance and legal studies. During her undergraduate studies, she held executive board positions in various clubs and honor societies, presented research and performed at several conferences, and was a scholarship recipient for excellence in dance studies. Most notably, she acted as a choreographer and Student Assistant Director of the Geneseo Dance Ensemble. After taking a gap-year to intern in the dance department at SUNY Geneseo as a research and teaching assistant, she is excited to embark on a new chapter at The University at Buffalo working toward her M.F.A.. Samantha looks forward to expanding her artistic horizons and continuing to nurture her passion for sustainability as an interdisciplinary study and arts advocacy.
