We Stand With You

The Department of Theatre and Dance at the University at Buffalo stands in support of our Black undergraduate and graduate students and vehemently condemns white supremacist violence, logics, and institutions.

Black Lives Matter.

Dance, theatre, and the performing arts are essential sites of representation and action. As we affirm UB President Satish K. Tripathi’s message condemning “intolerance, hatred, and institutional racism,” we commit to ongoing examination of our own work in classrooms, in production, and in our communities, and take seriously the responsibility performance bears to enact justice and envision an equitable world.

Fearless Artistry. Technical Proficiency. Professional Versatility. Theatre and Dance at the University at Buffalo engages emerging artists, scholars, and audiences dedicated to sustaining and innovating the performing arts across disciplines. Our diverse programs integrate rigorous training, critical understanding, and impassioned creation supported by close faculty mentorship and developed in collaboration with internationally recognized guest artists.
