Robert Pitts was born and raised on the south side of Chicago, where his passion for helping his community through organizing and the arts came about. A jack of all trades, Robert worked with various non-profit organizations in Chicago: South Siders Organized for Unity and Liberation(SOULCHICAGO) as a community activist, Inspiration Cafe, a transitional homeless shelter as a Case Manager, and as an educator on the city’s North Side in the public school system. A talented artist, his artwork has been displayed in Chicago at the Harold Washington Library and Agitator art gallery and locally here both in East Aurora and Buffalo. He has a BA in sociology and an MA in Public Policy from Adler University. His current scholarship is in the symbolism and ritual of Afro-Atlantic religions and issues surrounding food aparthied.
