Luke Williamson was born and raised in California, but has been an East Coast transplant for some time now. Williamson is married and has a ten year old son. His most recent artworks have either been representational landscapes painted in oil or figurative drawings, roughly rendered in ink and watercolor. In his landscape work, Williamson thinks about aesthetics and craftsmanship, but is "vainly driven by an underlying attempt to try to possess the unpossessable". In his figurative work, Williamson attempts to express some type of turmoil or uncertain emotional state. In contrast to the landscapes, he wishes to grasp nothing. Moving forward, Williamson plans to continue to work along those lines, but, would also like to explore the sculptural field and welcomes new and unexpected ideas and approaches.
