Second Year PhD student at Cornell University

What was your career goal when you graduated, and where are you up to on that journey?  I planned to go to graduate school. I am currently a second year PhD student at Cornell University.

What are you currently working on professionally? My research studies the role of antibody glycosylation in maternal antibody transfer in dogs, horses, mice and humans.

How has the Department of Biological Sciences helped you prepare for your goal? The department has great resources and programs that helped me prepare for graduate school. I was involved with research programs and TAing which helped me get a sense of what grad school is like.

What faculty member or class brings back the best memories? BIO200 with Dr. Poulin! The class was very fun and interesting, even for an online class during COVID. I loved our labs, Pop! World was so fun!

What is your advice to the current/future BIO students? There are a lot of things to do in Biology! Don't be afraid to ask your professors or peers about new opportunities you want to try. You can't get interested in something you don't know exists!
