Khalid Ahsan, PhD, is the Coordinator of the Organic Chemistry Lab Program. His responsibilities include the preparation of chemicals and reagents, and supervising the work activity of graduate and teaching assistants involved with the organic chemistry laboratory program. He is also responsible for implementing Green chemistry principles into existing lab experiments to make them more eco-friendly. He works closely with the faculty in planning experiments for CHE 205/206 and CHE 251/252. He is also the department Safety Officer where he coordinates with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to ensure that all research and teaching laboratories are in compliance with EHS guidelines. He also coordinates annually/monthly safety inspections by the Safety Committee and conducts the annual department safety training seminar.
