Faculty Mentoring

Mentoring Team: All tenure track and teaching faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor should assemble a mentoring team of 2-3 advanced faculty. This team should be composed of faculty both within and outside their own area. One person should be identified as the primary mentor.

Meetings: Meetings with members of the mentoring team should take place at least annually, but preferably once each semester.

Completion of Evaluation Form: Following each mentoring meeting, mentors should complete a mentoring evaluation form (see below), review with mentee, sign, and submit the completed form to the Department Administrator who will assemble and give to the Chair. All mentors can sign one form or individual mentors can sign individually. Completed forms are due at the end of the academic semester.

Chair's Review: The Department Chair will review mentoring evaluations and discuss with the mentee.
