Program Note: danceSense explores the interconnections between body, data, and space in a performative/pedagogical context, combining media makers with motion artists and theatre design/tech practitioners. In danceSense, body sensors gather data from dancers' movement and send signals to a show control console, creating a unique sound, light, and video score for each performance. danceSense, part of the “Improvised Journeys” research project, is supported by the UB Arts Collaboratory, Department of Media Study, and Department of Theatre and Dance.
