Artist Statement

I am a nonbinary and queer sculptor, performance artist, event organizer, and collector of curiosities. I was born and raised in Spokane, Washington, where I received my Associate of Fine Arts Degree from Spokane Falls Community College. I completed my undergraduate studies at Central Washington University (CWU) where I majored in Studio Art with an emphasis in sculpture.

My work is a self-reflective, therapeutic investigation into the experiences and lingering consequences of youth faced with unstable, traumatic, or abusive domestic environments. My most recent work embodies a dichotomy between fear and hope, bridging sculpture, installation, and performance to construct spaces that reflect coping mechanisms utilized in formative years. Imagery referencing the body and the home explore topics of inherited mental illness, negativity stemming from idyllic notions of perfection, suppressed facets ofidentity, and an unhealthy reverence for nostalgia.
