UB Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology Clinic now offering ABR testing

Auditory Brainstem Response (or ABR) testing provides a safe method for testing newborn hearing.

The UB Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Clinic is excited to announce the launch of a newborn hearing screening program, which began in February 2026. The program offers follow-up Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) and Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs) testing for newborn hearing screening referrals and infants with risk factors. This program features the use of state-of-the-art equipment that does not require infants to be fully asleep for ABR testing.

Early identification of hearing differences is critical for supporting speech, language, and overall developmental outcomes. Our program provides families with timely, noninvasive, and reliable screening options, delivered by trained professionals using best-practice protocols.

If you are a healthcare provider, community partner, or family seeking infant hearing screening services, we welcome the opportunity to connect and collaborate.
