With sadness, we are sharing the passing of Dr. Jack Katz.
Dr. Katz was a Professor at UB from 1984 to 2001 when he retired. He was a pioneer in assessment of auditory processing disorders and developed the Staggered Spondaic Word Test. Dr. Katz was a wonderful researcher, teacher, and mentor throughout his career, working with researchers, audiologists, and speech-language pathologists across the world. He also chaired our department for 5 years. He was regularly in contact with our Audiology students, including lecturing in classes via Zoom. His passing is a significant loss to everyone who knew him and to the field of Audiology.
Our hearts are with his family, friends, and colleagues across the world as we mourn.
