Students produce haikus during coronavirus

In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, students created Haikus to reflect on their new experiences.

In spring 2020, UB students (like everyone else) found themselves with a new normal in response to the COVID-19 lockdowns. To recognize and reflect on the experience, students in GGS 101 and 225, submitted poems to the Haiku Project. This effort was led by Professor Kari Winter, with support from the Humanities Institute. The poems have been collected in a booklet titled "Haiku in the Time of Coronavirus," which also features photographs of Kari Winter's garden, her own solace during the pandemic.
