The riches of Jewish Tradition to all and everyone.
"Talmud and Philosophy", co-edited by Sergey Dolgopolski, professor in the Department of Jewish Thought at UB, and James Redfield, was published by Indiana University Press in 2024. The book brings together scholarship that explores the intersection of rabbinic tradition and philosophical inquiry.
The volume has drawn international attention and will be the subject of a dedicated academic conference in Munich, Germany, in fall 2025. The event will bring scholars together to discuss how rabbinic texts and methods engage with key questions in philosophy.
The upcoming conference highlights the global relevance of the book’s themes and reflects UB’s growing presence in international conversations about religion, ethics and critical thought.
